Bark Collars and Anti Bark Devices

Bark Collars perform very similarly in controlling dog's barking behavior.  Bark Collars either provide a direct contact stimulus to stop the barking (Ex: static correction - spray burst - vibration), or emit tones or pitches to distract the dog from the barking behavior (Ex: Sonic pitches - UltraSonic -  Tones). 

All of these methods of stopping the behavior work well.  What makes the difference sometimes, is the dog.  Some dogs are very stubborn and also head strong, while others are instinctive with their behavior.  A good example of these two types would be a German Shepard as a head-strong dog and a Coon Hound as an instinctive barker.  These types of dogs may respond better to a static correction to curb their behavior.  Smaller dogs or dogs that are hyper-active may respond better to tones/pitch or even a Citronella burst.

Changing the barking behavior of a dog is not an exact science...neither is raising kids, so do not be surprised if one approach works better than another.  To learn more about barking behavior, click here.
