The Cat Mate Electronic Door is designed to be mounted into doors up to 1 3/4" thick.The rigid flap is made with tough durable polycarbonate and lined with weather sealing brush. You can operate the door in the electronic mode which requires the magnetic collar tag to unlock the pet door as your pet enters the house. The lock only controls access into the home...this design deters other neighborhood cats and undesirable animals from entering your home. You can also select manual made with this door so that you can utilize the 4-way locking feature that does not require the collar tags. The magnetic collar tags (2) included with purchase are water proof and durable so they do not need replacing. Recommended for cats over 14lbs.
