The Ideal DraftStopper Patio Pet Door is a single pane glass unit that has an insulated pet door.  It is recommended for those customers who wish to have a better insulated pet door but without having the added cost of a dual pane glass insert.

 The DraftStopper is also much lighter than dual pane units, allowing you to easily set-in and remove the patio pet door with ease. This becomes important for customers who may need the full opening of their slider from time to time. As a rule, patio inserts take away from your usable space when they are installed. The Draftstopper since it is a temporary or permanent install type, can easily be set off to the side at any time without the hassle of hardware and re-installation.

Pet Opening 10 1/4" wide x 15 3/4" tall:  The Pet door used in this insert is the Ideal UltraFlex Door.  It is made of segmented sections of tough / durable polycarbonate plastic. This door is designed to last without replacement due to normal use. The DraftStopper Patio Pet Door comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty through the manufacturer (Ideal Pet Products).

Adjustable height range 96 1/8" & taller:  The top section floats on two tension rods. You simply compress the top and fit it in the track, then release the top. A thumb bolt on either side near the top secures the top section so the Patio Pet Door cannot be removed from the outside. This unit will have a custom extension piece based on the height you provide us. This custom piece will sleeve into the top of the main Patio Insert to provide you the proper height. Larger extension pieces may be more secure if you use a couple of screws to secure the extension piece in place - on the interior side of the panel. (Not included).

Security:  Slide-in locking panel is included to keep pets in or out for your convenience. Each Patio Pet Door comes with a dead bolt pin to use if you choose. We strongly suggest chocking the door with a stick as this immobilizes your slider.

Step Over Rise for Pet:  The Rise is the portion the pet steps over to pass through the pet door. The Extra Large pet opening comes standard with a 8 " rise.  The top of the pet opening will be 23 3/4" off the floor.  Ideally your pet's shoulders should be shorter than this height. An optional 4" rise is also available for this unit.

Installation:  This Patio Pet Door can be mounted on the fixed side of the slider. Some fixed windows are molded in and for those, this will not work. Others, have stoppers either in the bottom or top track that keep the fixed side stationary. If you remove the stoppers, you can pull out the fixed side far enough to accept the patio insert. Comes with a slide in panel to lock off pet opening.  Includes weather stripping that seals out bugs and drafts, and a foam bumper to seal your sliding door to the patio insert.   Also see the PDF Instructions above.

Note:  Permanent installation hardware not included.  Nearly all customers use this item as a temporary type installation.
