Ideal Hefty Pet Patio Pet Door
The Ideal Hefty Pet Patio Pet Door comes with a 4-Way Locking pet opening that is generously sized to accommodate any sized cat and small dogs. The pet opening measures
7 1/2"wide x 10 1/2" high.
The flap is made of durable GE Lexan, is lined with brushes for a very
good weather seal. The flap door also has magnets at the bottom to
ensure a tight closing flap.
The
patio insert frame is aluminum, housing a safety glass upper portion.
The very top of the panel is spring loaded to allow for an approx. 3
inch adjustment range. These patio inserts are designed to fit in the
same channel as your sliding door. Your sliding door will open and
close to the unit, which stays in place.

patio inserts are designed to fit in the same channel as your sliding
door. Your sliding door will open and close to the unit, which stays
in place.
Weather stripping is included, as well as pin lock assembly,
however, we highly recommend that you use an brace bar or even a stick
that is placed behind the sliding patio door. This method of locking
your doors is much safer than relying on a lock mechanism.
Be sure
to measure your opening accurately from the deepest part of the track
on the floor to the very inside of the top channel; this measurement
lets you know which height to choose from the chart below.

The top spring-loaded adjusting section of the Patio Pet Door
appears as an "H" piece when viewed from the side. The overall width
of this piece is 13/16" (Will fit into most any sliding glass door
track). The spring-loaded adjustment provides
for a 2.5" range for proper fitting into your opening. Most top
tracks in sliding glass doors do not have any center rails, however, if
you do have this feature then the Insert can straddle any
rail at the top 5/8" wide or narrower. The
spring-loaded
top is secured with 2 thumbscrew locks, accessible from the interior
only, so that someone from the exterior of the house
would not be able to compress or remove the unit. |

5/8". A semi-circle, "C" channel is centered and runs the length of
the bottom. This "C" channel is design to straddle the center rail in
the channel on the floor that your sliding glass door follows.
By
straddling this center rail, the Ideal Patio Pet Door will remain
centered to the frame of your sliding door when closed to this unit.
Note: If
the center rail in the channel on the floor is wider than 5/16", then
this patio Insert will not be able to straddle it and as a result may
not fit properly in your opening. |
