The MaxSeal doors seal perfectly every time and provide the best insulating value. The flaps are UV treated and nylon cord reinforced for long life in any environment ...hot or cold. The Solo Automatic Pet Door is a magnetically triggered door that simply requires a collar magnet. This simple triggering mechanism makes it RELIABLE. Other brands use collars that emit sonic frequencies that frequently malfunction when in wet conditions (Or water bowls), while others use RFID. RFID is commonly used in security situations such as hotel card access etc. Electronic Pet Doors are not designed to allow dogs access and deny criminals. If you are being sold a door under these pretexts, you are being misled. Electronic pet doors currently control pet access and deny other other animals entry. |
Why We Recommend:
There are several dual flap doors on the market. The important aspect to consider as a large dog owner is the effectiveness of function. The ideal Ruff Weather door is a good UTILITY dual flap door. They do not seal perfectly every time like the MaxSeal models; however you my not require optimum insulation and security based on where the door is being installed. We recommend the Ruff Weather for this category of utility doors as other brands perform very similarly to the Ruff Weather, the only difference is they cost more; but do not necessarily perform better.

The screen pet door offered by Security Boss is designed for sliding screen doors that are part of sliding glass doors. A Tall/Extra/Large size is available that works for most all large and giant breeds. Other screen doors on the market are designed for smaller animals. The main reason we recommend this product is that it seals and keeps out bugs! The swinging flap has a heavy duty brush pile that seals all gaps. The hidden high power magnets keep the door sealed every time. The installation is not difficult but does take a little time. Many customers have local screen door companies install these pet doors for them also.

It is not often you need a pet door for a sash window that will allow an extra large dog to use it comfortably, but when that is the only option for a pet door, the Ideal Flexible Flap Window Insert is works wonderfully. The 900 Series Patio Pet Door is a dual paned, dual flap pet door for sliding glass doors, This unit requires you to install with hardware. Your sliding door will open and close to the unit. The generous 15x20 pet opening will suffice for most larger breeds. Some Giant breeds may have difficulty, in these cases we recommend considering an alternative area in your home for a door mounted or wall mounted pet door. The glass of this unit is tempered and the flaps are replaceable. A plastic locking cover for the pet opening is included. The closure of the flaps is rated very good, but you may experience some blowing in under very windy conditions.

It is considered a good utility patio pet door, but the main reason customer like this product is that they can remove and use the sliding doors in their home when they wish or it the weather becomes too extreme. Remember: patio inserts take up space in your opening that may hinder you from using the opening yourself. The glass on this model is tempered and the single flap is easily replaced for maintenance.
