Pet Doors Used in Overhead Garage Doors

A Pet Door in an Overhead Garage Door can be tricky.  You must realize that your garage door is made of sections that are hinged together.  If you cut a large hole in one of those sections you very well may compromise the integrity of the entire door, causing damage.  For this reason, Moore Pet Supplies only recommends that smaller pet doors be used in overhead doors...and only as a last resort.  It is always better to find an alternative location for a pet door, rather than the overhead door.

Below we have put together models that are most commonly used in an overhead garage door installation.  Pay particular attention to the thickness of your door and match it with the model(s) that are of interest.  You will also want to make sure the exterior dimensions of the door you choose will fit on the panel section, if it over-hangs at all, it will impede your door from opening and closing properly.

Pet Doors Mounted in OverHead Garage Doors

MoorePet recommends installing a pet door in an alternative location to a overhead garage door, but for those who wish to do so, we have put together below the most commonly used pet doors for this type of installation.  If you have any questions please call us at 1-800-829-7876.

Important: The door you select should be mounted so that the external frame does not overlap a joint in the overhead door. The flap may hang down when the garage door is raised. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 1-800-829-7876.
