The bed has a 2" thick "egg-crate" molded foam center that is covered by a two-sided, removable cover. I bought 3 of thise pet beds, one for each spoiled dog, and the dogs love them. I started out with just 1 bed for my aging dog with hip problems and this thing is so comfy the other 2 dogs would hardly leave it alone. They just happen to be so darn cute I couldn't deny them...so, I've ordered 2 more. I would recommend this to any dog owner and I wonder where I can find one of these in my size!
