Overall Length (Depth of the Pet Stairs): This measurement is the "long" length of the base of the stairs. This measurement (with the width of the unit), will help you determine how much floor space each model will occupy.
Height of Unit (Tall): Overall height of the pet stairs. This is important when deciding which model will allow comfortable access for your cat or dog.
Step Height: The actual height that you pet will have to navigate for each step. The "Tiny" models have a 3 3/8" high step, while the larger units will have 5" and 7" high steps for larger pets. Smaller dogs will find the smaller step heights much more comfortable.
Step Depth (Deep): This is the short distance measurement, as you are facing the stairs, of each step. You will have the overall width of the step and the shorter - depth measurement. On smaller units this will be a smaller surface, and greater on the larger steps.
