The Plexidor Premium Pet doors are made with Plexiglas. There is an air-pocket (approx. 1/8") molded in the doors, designed to provide an insulating door. The framing is constructed of a high quality aluminum. A weather stripping pile brush lines the doors on all models. Each panel of the saloon style as well as the single flap (Small model), is held by an internal spring assembly. These assemblies are replaceable. The smallest size is a single piece door, hinged at the side, while the larger sizes have a "saloon door" style. The rigid door panels are lined on the edges with high-density brush-like material. Each door is connected by internal springs to close the flaps (replaceable).
The Plexidor is one of the quietest pet doors available.
All sizes (except Small) have a screw-in locking plate that can be affixed if the door is to be locked off for an extended period of time. For frequently locking; a key Yale lock allows you to lock the pet door (key included). This door is a very unique design that utilizes the rigid panel door design. It is rated as a "good" insulating pet door.
The Plexidor Dog Door was recently featured in the popular 'Marmaduke' movie.
Note: Some customers have provided feedback that when the door is locked using the key, their dogs will still hit the panels hard when trying to use. There is no visual indicator to the pet that the door is locked.

The small model has a single-side mounted flap - larger sizes have the "saloon" style doors.
