Important Notes: The VIP is designed to used as a permanently installed insert. Necessary hardware and mounting brackets are included. Check the insert images, found on previous page, highlighting the top and bottom portion of the VIP to ensure that this will fit in your sliding door track.   (See PDF Instructions).

Pet Opening 10 1/4" wide x 15 3/4" tall:  The VIP Insulated Panel pet opening uses the Ideal UltraFlex Pet door. This insulated pet door is constructed of heavy duty polycarbonate (Unbreakable plastic) that is segmented. These segments each enclose an air chamber for optimum insulating effect. The segmented portions are held together with a flexible gasket that allows you pet to easily push through the opening, even though the flap is more rigid and thicker than traditional vinyl flap doors.

Height range 79 3/4" to 81 1/2":   This vinyl patio pet door is designed for permanent installation only. This requires you to use the enclosed hardware to securely affix the insert in your opening. You will be using mounting brackets as well as screws to affix the panel into place. This insert does not use the adjusting spring loaded top as found in other temporary units, but has top cover plates that are screwed into place to compensate for the final height adjustment of the insert. 
This can be installed on either left or right side sliders.

Security:  Slide-in locking panel is included to keep pets in or out for your convenience. Each Patio Pet Door comes with a dead bolt pin to use if you choose. We strongly suggest chocking the door with a stick as this immobilizes your slider.

Step Over Rise for Pet:  The Rise is the portion the pet steps over to pass through the pet door.
The extra large pet opening comes standard with a 8" rise.  The top of the pet opening will be 23 3/4" off the floor.  Ideally your pet's shoulders should be shorter than this height.

Installation:  The VIP is not considered to be an easy install. There is mounting hardware included with your door as well as a locking mount that allows you to lock your slider INTO the panel. This locking device fits most all sliding doors. We cannot guarantee that your slider will work with the locking device as sliding door companies are developing new styles and designs each year. For those rare situations that there is an incompatibility, we suggest purchasing one of our optional Patio Locks. These are listed as accessories on this page and you will have the option to add to your basket at checkout.
