Staywell Model 861 |

All of the product descriptions I have read are accurate. Model 861 is probably not good for cats and small dogs. Impact resistant plastic and seems to be tough enough to keep unwanted critters out.
The door is noisy. The flap has two parts: a central rigid plastic flap, and a u-shaped plastic gasket piece to seal off air flow around the central flap. The u-shaped gasket uses magnets to stay shut, which will help for wind and blowing snow where I live. The u-shaped plastic gasket piece only opens when dog enters from outside, and closes with a loud bang when the magnets and plastic connect. Exiting to outside is somewhat quieter as this gasket doesn't move. Believe this product description comment: "Not recommended for installation in a sleeping area."
The collar and door electronics work well and I am satisfied with the product.

I was a little hesitant on ordering an economical door because I realize you pay for the quality you recieve and I was impressed. The door works great I have had it for over a year and I have had NO problems with it whatsoever. I would recommend this to friends/family without any disregards.

Good price |

I got this door recently because it was on special and was a very good price. I did my research and asked a lot of questions before making the order. We mounted it through the back door to our fenced in yard and it works great. The noise doesn't bother us and what noise there is really startles the cat so it serves two purposes there, one it keeps the cat from getting curious, two..it keeps the cat from going outside and thats why we bought it to begin with. This a very good door at a very good price, and works great for keeping the cats and letting my dog outside.

I love this door. My dog can come and go without other critters gaining access into my home. Nice original idea for a pet door.

Staywell Door |

I initially wanted a Solo Automatic Pet Door, but it was too rich for my blood. I went with the Staywell Infrared, I was pleasantly surprised. It is a plastic-economical door, but seems very reliable and easy for my female Boxer to use. I have a cat that I need to keep in the house, so this door fit my budget and performs very well. Thanks Moore Pet!
