PetSafe Extreme Weather Doors

The PetSafe Extreme Weather Pet Door uses a unique 3-flap design: 2 flexible flaps that sandwich a padded material (Yellow portion in door image). There is not brush (pile) weather stripping along any of the side of the flaps. The flaps do have magnetic strip only along the bottom portion of the vinyl flaps. The interior insulating pad does not have any magnets and simply free floats. The frame of this door is made of thinner plastic, so it is not recommended for someone expecting a very solid reinforced frame. Vinyl 'strips' are included. These strips are for lining the cut out area of the door that this is being installed, and must be cut by hand during the installation.

The 3-flap design, does increase the resistance a pet would feel going through the door. This rigidity may require a pet more time to become accustom to the door. The locking panel is a true "front-load" meaning that it snaps directly on the pet opening. This pet opening cover does not add ANY security to the pet door.

Flaps are connected by thumbscrews through a slotted section at the top of the flaps. This allows for adjustment of the flaps, centering as up and down to some degree. Petsafe has not provided any information regarding the longevity of this flap configuration.
